After years of using traditional deodorants and dealing with various issues like random pains under my arm, I decided to switch to natural deodorants and ditch the aluminum and alcohol-based ingredients. But let’s be honest, natural aluminum-free deodorants can be pricey, so I decided to try a few options from the drug store, and here are my thoughts on them.
Love Beauty And Planet: Coconut milk and white jasmine
-
- I loved the smell of this deodorant, probably one of my favorite.
- Easy to apply on, has a great consistency and doesn’t leave that caky feeling under your armpit.
- Reduced amount of sweat and odor at the end of the day!
- Even though this deodorant applies smoothly, you will have to reapply a couple of times throughout the day to keep you fresh and smelling good all day.
- I wouldn’t recommend this for humid climates because your chances of sweating are a lot higher.
- Overall Grade: I would give it a C; the smell and the ease of application make it something I would grab again. Because you have to reapply several times; I don’t like that!
Raw Sugar Deodorant: Vanilla Bean + Charcoal
- The smell of this deodorant was my absolute favorite!
- You can apply this just once, and it lasts the whole day. You feel dry for pretty much the entire day.
- On the flip side, because the packaging of the deodorant is a push tab; it’s not very easy to push the product up.
- That affects the application of the product to your underarm. You will have to let the product set a bit; to allow it to dissolve or soften up so it can apply smoother.
- Overall Grade: I would give it a B. The product itself is good, it lasts through time, but the packaging takes away from it. The packaging makes it hard to access the product, which discourages me from wanting to purchase it again.
Hey Humans: Rosewater Ginger
- This deodorant was my favorite smell out of all the deodorants. I love that it masks body odor, and lasts the entire day.
- The product applies very well and melts very smoothly.
- Probably the best with keeping you dry and feeling fresh all day.
- The push tab package completely sucks, especially as you reach the end of the product gets hard to push out.
- The material that the packaging was; made of isn’t the best and started to fall apart.
- Overall Grade: I would give it a B. The deodorant was my absolute favorite. I love the smell, the fact I can wear it all day and not reapply. The packaging takes away from it, very flimsy and not my cup of tea.
Schmidt’s: Rose + Black Pepper
- Schmidt’s deodorant was not my favorite smell usually, go for more sweet scents. But if you like musky scents, then you might like this better.
- The packaging was very similar to conventional deodorants, so it was easy to use
- But the way it applies is not very good, rubs off very chalky and thick.
- Isn’t very good at; keeping you dry and fresh all day. It will need to be reapplied a few times throughout the day.
- Overall Grade: I would give this a D, not a fan of this deodorant. I used it a few times and didn’t like how it applied to my skin.
Native Deodorant: Aloe & Green Tea
- Smells amazing
- You will need to let it melt a little; to get a much more smooth application to the skin.
- Packaging is simple and easy to use, thus allowing application very easy.
- Overall Grade: I would give it a C+. This was my mid-point deodorant. I love the smell and how easy it is to use it, but there are some limits like the fact it doesn’t rub on smoothly or last the whole day.
Tom’s Of Maine: Creamy Coconut
- I like the smell of this deodorant, subtle and faint.
- But because the smell is so subtle, you are more likely to get the odor back by midday.
- It has a very thick and chalky consistency, which I didn’t like that you could still see in my underarm.
- Utilizing the product was pretty easy to use; compared to all the push tab deodorant, this was the best of all the choices.
- Overall Grade: I would give it a C. Because you have to reapply it due to the smell not being strong enough to last all day then; the odor is likely includes sweating.
Shop These Deodorants
I enjoyed trying the different deodorants, while I believe; the drug store has some great options. I think they are lacking in some areas. But for a quick and easy option, they are good. If I had to choose; my absolute favorite is the Raw Sugar Deodorant. It’s one I still use pretty usually.
