Being a mom especially to young ones, I know that feeling of trying to make it to the New Year and just leave all the stress of the holidays behind in the past year. But then we enter the new year feeling like wait I am not quite ready, anyone else feel like this once the new year starts? Well I have been there and I think the biggest lesson I have learnt in order to not have yet another crazy, hectic and overwhelmed year you need to set yourself up for success
- Set Goals, not just for yourself but for your family. My husband and I actually have a meeting before the New Year outlining our goals individually and then what we would like to accomplish as a family. I think this allows you to enter the New Year knowing what you are working towards and you can outline solid plans to accomplish it.
- Write down you goals and I would take it a step further to actually voice record it so you can listen to them over and over and over again. I actually just learnt about this trick, and I must say its totally a game changer. As humans we are very much visual (and audibly motivated) and getting to see (and hear) what you want to accomplish makes it more real and wanting to work hard to get it done.
- Plan out things wayyyyy ahead of time, I honestly still struggle at this but I am learning to get better at this everyday. By planning and having things lined out as you want them you have time to get mentally and physically ready for it. You also give your chance to be less overwhelmed and you can even financially prepare for things if you know on so and so date you will be doing that specific thing.
- Ask for help and be open to receiving help, this is something we all constantly have to be reminded. To be the best you, you have to be willing to let other’s help you too. Team work makes the dream work, so be open to getting extra help to make the ship keep sailing.
A new year will bring on its fair share of challenges and there will be plenty of ups and downs honestly, but the most important thing in it all is just to have the right mindset ready to have a successful year and wanting to do better than the last.
Let me know in the comments below,
What is something you are implementing this year to make it successful?
